Macbooks cost way too much

This is a rant post, about how ridiculously and for some prohibitively expensive Macbooks have become. I mean they always were fairly expensive but for some reason it's just gone through the roof.

And for what?

Did I get something more valuable? More for my money?

By paying $2k+ I can get what?  A touchbar?  What is even the point of that thing. Apple made something that people didnt ask for and didnt need.

I have a Macbook 2015 in a delightful gold colour, and it does most things I need fairly quickly and reliably. The keyboard is starting to go wobbly and I figured now would be time to check out upgrades.

Cue the prices. No chance. I'd rather keep this one until it dies than pay that much.

Even as a teacher I'm supposed to get discounts. It used to be around $200 cheaper. Now it's more like half that.

Anyway.

We all know Apple is expensive.

I should get over it.

But still...
