iOS 11's Control Center doesn't turn off Bluetooth and Wifi
iOS 11 makes a lot of changes to Control Centre, and theyre all very much welcomed. On the surface that is.
It seems that if you want to disable Wifi or Bluetooth, you can press the button in Control Centre to do just that. The button becomes de-illuminated and as far as one would be aware, they should be off right?
No.
PSA: iOS 11 new control center WiFi and Bluetooth toggles don’t actually turn off their respective radios.— Andrea Barisani (@AndreaBarisani) September 20, 2017
Even though they appear to be off, the radios themselves in the device are actually still active. Which might seem like a good idea to prevent accidental Apple Watch disconnections or the like, but ultimately this will leave the security of the iPhone (and iPad) compromised and more open to attacks.
Wanna explain that please Apple?
