iPhone 8 and 8 Plus launch in Singapore

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have launched in Singapore.

Pre-orders were dealt with first before those who had stood in the queue for hours during the night.

Everybody in the queue could order a maximum of 2 phones each.

Mr Varis Sinthopruangchai who is a foreign exchange student studying finance from Thailand was the first to buy an iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. They were presents for his parents back home in Thailand.

"I'm happy to be on of the first few who arrived!" he was quoted as saying.

Apple's flagship store on Singapore's famous high end brand street opened it's doors in May this year and has become a new icon on the bright lights of Orchard Road.

If you're looking to get your hands on an iPhone 8 it retails at $1148 (64GB) and $1388 (256GB), and those looking for a bit more screen real estate and a better camera experience with the iPhone 8 Plus will pay $1308 (64GB) and $1548 (256GB). Both are available in Silver, Gold, or Space Gray. (online orders fulfilled in 3 days, retail store sold out at time of writing this).  The iPhone X pre-orders begin on 27th October.
